something funny (and sad) about UAQ

one more thing i forgot to mention about UAQ - when you enter the emirate, there are signs everywhere in arabic and english that say "keep umm al quwain clean - fine for littering is 500 AED". there was a dumpster or receptacle next to each sign...

and garbage strewn all over the place, right there. 

funny, for obvious reasons.

sad, because it's really too bad (on many levels) that people don't throw out their trash properly.
