just some photos

i'm SUPER tired today, so i'm just putting up some pictures that were taken of the desert in RAK on the highway 311 (emirates road) a week or so ago.

also, a pic of the hajar mountains as seen from the beach in ras al khaimah. the foreground beachy area is a potential future marriot site. not sure if that's happening...

and for the food checkers - i've been attempting some armenian recipes that are either straight from "anahid's gourmet cookbook" (brought straight from lebanon by a work aquaintance of serge's), or a combo of hers and the armo cookbooks aunt seta has bought me over the years and my own twists.

i made a super yummy baked tray boereg with a bread-like dough that had a layer of spinach, onions and tahini in the middle. soooooo tasty! i also made my own pastry dough to enclose a cheese and onion mixture (akkawi cheese) and then another with zucchini, parsley and some kashkaval cheese. those were wrapped up like little half moons (like empanadas). not bad for a first go at it!
