julian's memory

so either julian is actually listening to me (and just annoying me on purpose when he tunes me out for the "no no" things), or he's just a child obsessed. at the mall they have the shopping carts with the little car underneath. here, you have to rent it for a whopping 15 dirhams ($4 and change, which i think is a huge ripoff) per hour. julian is FASCINATED by these cars. he always points at them. every time we go to the store i tell him, "not today, but when we come here with daddy, we'll let you ride in one." 

today, serge and the secretary, lewellyn, had to go to carrefour to get some stuff for the factory. they had me meet them for coffee at the cafe right in front of the store. we let julian out of the stroller and he takes off full speed ahead, straight to the car shopping carts (at the far side of the mall behind where we were sitting). 

serge went after him. i wasn't paying attention, but the next thing we know, serge comes pushing one of the carts with julian in the car below. he was sooooo excited. steering the little wheel, opening and closing the door, shaking hands outside of the window...i think we are going to have to buy him one of those little cars - i think he's ready! because let me tell you, in the long run it will be cheaper than paying that stupid fee every time i go shopping!
