i've called this post cafeteria duty because i HATED having cafeteria duty when i was teaching. lucky for me that ordeal only lasted 2 months, so i should shut up and stop complaining. the thing about it that i hated the most was having to tell the students to pick up their freaking trash from the tables after eating. if i had to do that all year, i would have gotten a sandwich board sign that said, "i'm not your maid".
why do i bring this up? because i still think it's really weird that here, when you go to a food court in the mall, you are SUPPOSED to leave your tray and garbage, etc. on the table. all of the malls have hired people to come around and clean up after you. it's really weird. i guess that's something i'll get used to, but i still feel like i should throw it away myself. (the guilt is still there when i get up to leave a table and walk away from the mess.) that should be an interesting one to teach to julian for when we move back!
