RAK half marathon

aren't we lucky to be in the thick of it all? i'm guessing the fireworks display last night (thursday) which was again outside our house, was for the RAK half marathon which happened this morning.

the sound of a very low-flying helicopter woke me, as did the strange absence of traffic noise. the final leg of the race happened down our street! hooray for the silence! we went out to the street to watch the runners cruise by. it was a beautiful, chilly morning. gotta get the good weather in now before it turns 120 degrees ugly.

julian had a ball running around the front of the complex, as there was really no fear of cars entering (since they couldn't really go anywhere anyway).

we do have some photos, but as i'm about to pass out, i'll be adding them in tomorrow morning (to this post, so check back).
