at the factory

so i am very pleased to announce that i am the official assistant taster for serge when he makes his ganaches. no, it doesn't mean i get to stuff my face full of chocolate for fun - he needs my assistance in making sure the flavors are balanced. you know when you're making something and tasting and tasting...sometimes you just get tired taste buds. that's where i come in. i'm flattered because he said i have a very good palate. ah, i missed my calling as a chef. (good thing i'm married to one.)

so we visited the factory today. julian had a ball running around and sitting on the delivery cart (hilarious). i tried to take pictures, but alas, dead battery. always the case. let's just say that if this kid doesn't become a mechanical engineer (always trying to figure out how stuff works), we can see him becoming a chef or pastry chef. the child is obsessed with kitchen gadgets. and happy to be in the thick of the culinary action.

so i may have to do some more exploring with julian, as serge has to make about 5000 chocolates BY HAND before the 11th of february. 

his boss is lucky serge is good.
