i rocked the dubai bypass

sorry for no report yesterday, we had no internet connection.

i am very very pleased to say that i made it to dubai (festival city), using the bypass road through al helio, WITHOUT GETTING LOST. we were able to pick up what we needed at ikea, and grab lunch at burger king (okay, that's not so exciting).

julian did make friends with the manager, who gave him extra happy meal toys. he rather enjoyed himself, which made my quick trip to the mall actually productive and enjoyable.

from there, we drove to za'abeel park (again, sans getting lost) where we met a friend from high school (and i haven't seen her since high school graduation). julian of course got into the sand and the slides and kiddie activities while we caught up on the past 15 years (scary). we're hoping to see her and her family this weekend for her oldest son's birthday party. not sure what the weekend has in store yet...

julian did see a bunch of people with a baby and a ride on toy and decided to follow them, pick up the toy and try and use it. it was the little girl's 1st birthday, poor thing. my son came along and took her gift! but they were cool about it and let him ride on it and "talk" to the little girl.

when we left, julian was EXHAUSTED, so he slept in the car the whole ride home, where again, we did not get lost. 

that was awesome.
