pizza folie

some of you may know this as an alleged 5-star pizza restaurant in montreal. i mean no reference to that. i say pizza folie because we got pizza tonight (well, technically this is coming up as sunday, and i mean saturday) and it was crazy good, and i was viewed as crazy by some dudes getting pizza from the same place.

this little hole in the wall (next to emirates fried chicken restaurant - a must-try for one day - certainly sounds more appealing than the other one that struck me as funny today - the lamb roasting restaurant serving coca-cola. catchy name, isn't it?) makes awesome food for dirt cheap. you basically order pizza - they have traditional-looking pizza (only small, like a personal size) and these other things which are made on a round flat (sort of) bread. the filling is put on, then folded in half. this is one of the first places we saw the horn-honking take out style in action.

we ordered one with spinach and chicken, one with labneh (soft cheese, kind of like a whipped cream cheese taste - i'm not a huge fan) and a veggie pizza. the pizza was good, nothing super special, but those folded things are soooo good. have to try some others. i love how the english words are so unappetizing. who wants mutton? how 'bout some mutton with cheese? there are a few sketchy items on the menu, including omelette and fish sauce, kraft cheese and a few others. but lots of good stuff. and all super cheap.

so the guy brings me order out to the car, as serge had gone off down the street in search of sunglasses. i have a car parked in front of me (hood to hood) waiting for their order. two young guys are in the car. a really good song came on the radio, so i start dancing like a fool in the driver's seat and made julian dance with me (which he did). those 2 dudes pull away and pull up next to the car and are smiling, waving and giving me the thumbs up. yes! crazy white chick is freaking out in the car!

party on wayne and party on garth.
