julian's little table

this afternoon we headed down to dubai to meet serge's friend jocelyne at festival city. we ate a heavy, garlic-laden, gut-busting lunch at johnny carino's "italian" grill or whatever the hell it's called (yes, they really do have EVERYTHING here, every freaking american chain you can think of) and enjoyed lovely conversation and catch-up time with jocelyne, who's off to visit serge's old peeps at valrhona in france.

we purchased a small table with two chairs for julian at ikea, mainly because the same set attracts him like a magnet whenever we go to sara's house (they have one in the playroom). when we came home and serge put it together, he sat in both chairs and made sure that TJ and george got to come to the table and eat too. basically, he's psyched.

after ikea, we headed over to the oasis centre, a new mall on sheikh zayed road near the harley davidson dealership. we wanted to check it out, not because it has the largest glass dome roof in the middle east (really), but because serge is supposed to go there to the gourmet store on wednesday to do a promotion with daniel for their chocolate. as far as malls go, it's not my fave, not by a long shot. but i think it's obvious to everyone on the planet that my favorite mall EVER is the dubai mall. 

how jersey was THAT comment? i can hide my roots as much as i want, the truth comes out sooner or later. might as well own up to it...
