back in business

julian is once again a fan of the pool. we are psyched. it's quite hot here (around 106 F / 41 C), so we went to the beach club this weekend. julian actually enjoyed splashing around in the kiddie pool and ran serge ragged as they went down the water slide about 50 times. and serge figured out how to go faster (hooray) sans dunking julian on the exit as i do.

the little guy didn't want to leave he was having so much fun. but alas, around 1 pm, you're cooking, even though the pool is under a tent-like think to protect the kids from the shade. we headed home for lunch and a nap and then took it easy the rest of the day. the store where i got my glasses is having a big sale (luckily, my glasses are not part of that sale, or i would have murdered someone because isn't that always the way - you buy something, usually it's more than you wanted to pay, and then the next week it goes on sale, only the store has no price adjustment policy.), so serge bought 2 pairs of sunglasses since julian broke pair #2 since our arrival in the UAE. we figure with serge's track record anyway, he'll either break them or lose them, so why not get 2 when they are dirt cheap.

we also got julian a cool pair of silicone kids glasses that he keeps on and can't break. a fabulous weekend.
