the garage sale

i forgot to mention that on friday morning before we headed to dubai, we went to a house around the corner for their garage sale. (they are moving and getting rid of some stuff.) we were able to pick up a load of expensive toys for nothing, and get a glimpse of their awesome villa. the purpose of this post is twofold, so here goes.

1.  how great was that to pick up toys that i wanted to buy, only didn't want to spend the mucho denaro that they cost. julian got a huge bulldozer, wagon-like thing with different shaped building blocks, a cash register (with fake money and a fake credit card swiper), a fax machine (records your message), another wooden toy and then they threw in a free england rugby shirt.

2.  serge and i both were always saying that we're sick of moving and we should just stay put and there's no point in changing apartments. we also said that the next place we move is going to be where we stay for a long time. of course, we said this when we were in maplewood looking for a house. guess we were wrong on a lot of counts and should just shut up and suck it up and move because now that we know there are great villas out there (here) without having to trek all the way to al hamra, we are going to go for it and hopefully find one.

so whatever, if we have to move 5 more times, we move. i won't be saying that when we're going through it, but if i keep saying "this is the last time" it won't be. so send us good vibes on finding a better and bigger (and not too expensive) place to live!
