christmas festivities have been in full swing, from a trip to WAFI mall on tuesday to see santa (complete with 2 hour and 15 minute wait, joy of joys) and then a christmas eve party on the beach in front of our house.
christmas morning was great fun for julian. he really got big eyes when he saw the presents under the tree and enjoyed unwrapping everything, especially the gift from santa, a "choo choo train".
we were due to have about 12 people total for dinner, so naturally i'd been planning and cooking accordingly. they were supposed to arrive between 2 and 3:30. the only guests who came were our egyptian friends (who don't even celebrate xmas). we were so glad they came and had a great time with them, i'm just a little put off that the others didn't have the decency to call (we had to call them to get an answer out of them) or show up. merry freaking christmas, don't expect another invitation.
more than that - our friends brought 2 desserts and secret santa gifts (the no-shows' idea) and i just felt bad, but again, soooo glad they were here. we had a good time anyway. and now i don't have to cook for the whole week! hope everyone else's holiday was merry and delicious.
