I've said it before, I'll say it again...

...I LOVE THE DUBAI MALL. It is just a wonderland. We went on Saturday and happened upon some new interesting places. Like Ladurée, the Parisian café famous for its macarons. Or Café Madeleine, which has a terrace overlooking the Dubai fountain. Or the fact that the Organic Store (which is like Whole Foods, only a bit smaller) gives 20% off every third Saturday of the month. Score! We'll be back in November with lots of room in the trunk and a big cooler.

We went in the evening to the Armani hotel in the Burj Khalifa. Julian was hilarious, as he was super excited upon arrival. When the valet opened his door and welcomed him, he said, "Hi, I'm Julian." Then when we went inside, "Oh, this is a nice hotel. This is so cool." Everyone thought he was super cute. It was pretty funny. He kept commenting on the décor, "Look at those lights! Wow, this is a nice couch."

We ate at Peck, one of the restaurants in the hotel. Not only did we have a prime view of the fountain shows, but we had a nice meal as well. Service was excellent. And on the way out while waiting for our car, got to chat with some of the staff about the super fancy cars parked in front of the hotel. Like the brand new Ferrari California. Bentleys, other Ferraris. #12 license plate pulled up while we were there - it was one of those 2-seater really expensive Mercedes whose doors open up top like wings. I guess when the hotel cars are Maserati 4-door sedans, these kinds of vehicles are the norm. Serge offered to trade ours for one of those cars, but they wouldn't go for it. Oh well, maybe next time.
