It's a Halloween Miracle

I can't even believe it myself. Not only did Spinney's lower the price of jack-o-lantern pumpkins (or perhaps just finally post the true price), but they actually had CANNED PUMPKIN when I went to the store today. I searched for that stuff EVERYWHERE last year around Halloween and Thanksgiving and found nothing. So far this season, I've been roasting and puréeing sugar pumpkin and then freezing it, which works fine, but really isn't the most fun considering it's in the 90's outside and not oven-on-let's-bake weather.

Yes, pumpkins went from 21.95 dhs / kilo to 14.95 dhs / kilo. I still only bought a small one, but it's better than nothing. (The exchange rate is approximately 3.6 dirhams to the dollar which equals a fortune for a pumpkin.) And I loaded up my shopping cart with 7 cans of pumpkin. I probably should have bought more, but I know I can always kick it Martha Stewart-style and roast my own. Ah, the excitement.
