blue souq mania!

sara and i have been hitting up the blue souq twice a week filling orders. we went sunday and tuesday, although tuesday was quite the voyage, as we were accompanied by rina, jongnam, yun jeong and yeongsuk. rina is always the life of the party and even more fun, as she shops 'till she drops. we saw pashmina guy (the nice man who sells pashminas and always gives julian a gift when we stop in), the tourist shop guy, the carpet guy (for rina) and of course, our jeweler. 

trips to the blue souq always include the mandatory egg sandwich and tea or cappuccino. we're going to get fat with all of these trips.

wednesday was a farewell lunch for an amazing woman and friend, elaine. we surprised her with a nice posh lunch at the cove rotana and a gorgeous gold necklace with her name written in arabic. i've only known her for about 2 months, but i feel like it's been longer. have to wish her all the luck and happiness, as she and her family of four kids are going to cyprus on a one-way ticket and are going to just wing it when the get there and find a good public school for the kids. (mind you, they don't speak greek.) what incredible people. and what balls.
