paula deen portion control

tonight (friday) was another leaving party. this time for jenny who is moving to malaysia. this was a family party with an international theme - sara organized it all. we were to show up dressed in our traditional dress and bring food to follow the theme.

we decided on american food, only because sara put the idea of chili dogs into my head. mind you, i never eat them, but i figured what the hell. the only 2 people i could think of that would provide me with a real american recipe were rachel ray (yum-o! vomit) and paula deen (make sure the defibrillator is in the vicinity). i settled on the "smashed dogs" recipe from paula, although i sadly omitted the hot pork sausage since pork is a no-no for some of the guests.

i don't know how she and her family aren't dead of clogged arteries or some other gastric ailments, y'all. the recipe called for FOUR POUNDS OF MEAT to make the chili, plus tomatoes, beans and other stuff, and then...four hot dogs with buns. THIS RECIPE SERVES FOUR. i had a vat of chili that looked like a dent hadn't been put in it after topping 20 hot dogs. that woman is on something that is clearly keeping her heart beating and body functioning.

pass the mayo, sour cream, butter, cheese and anything else fattening you can think of. y'all gotta love that paula.
