Looking good

Time for the update. Had lots of pain last Sunday and was quite upset. Ended up talking to a friend who's a therapist and worked through a lot. The following day, a whole bunch of (alert - gross warning) pus came out of the wound in the breast. I went in at night to have it checked. Lo and behold, either another abscess had formed, or the doc just didn't get all of the original one drained. Most likely, another one had formed.

He informs me that the way to make sure we get it all clear is to reopen it to let it completely drain. The conversation went something like this:

Doc: "Just come in tomorrow and we'll do general anesthesia to open it up."
Me: "No, no, no, no, no, I'm not staying overnight here one more time. There has to be another way."
Doc: "I can give you local now and do it."
Me: "Fine, I'm just warning you, I hate needles. Like I freak out."
Doc: "So come back tomorrow."
Me: "I'll be fine. Let's just do it."
Doc: "If I'm torturing you, you tell me and I stop."

I then started freaking out when the needle made its appearance and he wanted to stop.

Me: "Just keep going, it's fine. I don't even care if it hurts - how long could it last? 10 seconds? Go."

It didn't hurt. He got about probably 20-30 more cc's of junk (in addition to the same amount probably that came out during the day). Now that we are 1 week later, 1 more antibiotic later, the wound is almost closed up! Feeling much better already and hoping that my visits to the doctor become more and more infrequent!
