He informs me that the way to make sure we get it all clear is to reopen it to let it completely drain. The conversation went something like this:
Doc: "Just come in tomorrow and we'll do general anesthesia to open it up."
Me: "No, no, no, no, no, I'm not staying overnight here one more time. There has to be another way."
Doc: "I can give you local now and do it."
Me: "Fine, I'm just warning you, I hate needles. Like I freak out."
Doc: "So come back tomorrow."
Me: "I'll be fine. Let's just do it."
Doc: "If I'm torturing you, you tell me and I stop."
I then started freaking out when the needle made its appearance and he wanted to stop.
Me: "Just keep going, it's fine. I don't even care if it hurts - how long could it last? 10 seconds? Go."
It didn't hurt. He got about probably 20-30 more cc's of junk (in addition to the same amount probably that came out during the day). Now that we are 1 week later, 1 more antibiotic later, the wound is almost closed up! Feeling much better already and hoping that my visits to the doctor become more and more infrequent!
