This afternoon, Julian and I headed down to Dubai for a children's pastry class at the Park Hyatt Hotel, which is GORGEOUS, by the way. Chef Anil from Felchlin (Swiss chocolate company) taught Julian and 5 other kids (all of whom were older) how to make chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes.
Julian donned a lovely extra large chef's jacket, apron and chef's hat and was thoroughly engrossed in the ENTIRE afternoon (which lasted a good 2 1/2 hours). He watched the mixer, the cookies baking in the oven, hand rolled the cookies and painstakingly decorated cupcakes with M&M's. The chef (and rest of the staff that came to watch) were so impressed with his focus, neatness and cuteness! We had a ball. Let's not talk about the fact that I think Julian consumed his weight in sweets today. He was a good kid!
Gonna need to see a picture of him in that apron and chef'shat!
